A re-creation of life in a Gloucestershire Parish

Written by Anne Riddiford, a local writer, provides an informative and entertaining read.

The work contains three hundred pages, including sketch maps, photographs and illustrations.

Although it is a book dealing with local and social history throughout the last 100 years, it is not a heavy read. The collection of memoirs are written in an entertaining, and often humorous way. It is focused in life in Falfield, as it is written to raise much-needed funds for the parish church. However, the reader needs to have no previous knowledge of the village to appreciate the book, - just an interest in people and places as they were and a good sense of humour.

Comments received on the book:

"Congratulations! - I just can't put it down!"

I've lived around here all my life and I'm discovering things I never knew before."

"Please can I have another copy? - My wife and I are squabbling over who gets it first."

Copies may be obtained by ringing 01454 418838

The book is priced at £13.99 and presents excellent value.
(Entire proceeds to St George's Church, Falfield)
