Councillors met on two occasions in January. On the 3rd January, the main item on the agenda was to discuss and agree the Council’s response to the final consultation to the West of England Joint Spatial Plan. Click here to read response.
At their subsequent meeting on the 16th January the usual business of correspondence, planning and finance were discussed. The Clerk advised that an order for a replacement parish noticeboard had been placed and that delivery was expected towards the end of January/early February. Councillors agreed to take part in the South Gloucestershire Annual Spring Clean which would take place in April 2018.
Councillors agreed that money set aside for seeds and bulbs, should be used to purchase new plant-ing in Orchard View and on the Village Green and the Clerk was asked to contact the Brownies and Scouts to ask them if they would like to assist with the planting later in the year. A discussion also took place concerning the concrete planters, which are positioned along-side the 40 mph speed limit entries on the A38 at either end of the village, which in recent years have become neglected. It was hoped that either a local business, organisation or individual would come forward and volunteer to take on the role of tending to the future upkeep of the planters.

Due to low attendance at the surgeries held during 2015 no further surgeries are planned to take place in the Village Hall. The nearest location for surgeries in 2016 will now be at the Wyevale Garden Centre, Milbury Heath. The first of these will be held on Wednesday 13th January between 13:30 and 15:00. .
