RICHARD THOMAS GRIFFITHS 1944 - 2020

RICHARD THOMAS GRIFFITHS 1944 - 2020

The nicest gentleman skittler you’re ever likely to meet,
Always top of the averages, which is no mean feat.

Each week he entertained us with his comical whit,
His eyes would roll when we played really shit.

He’d remind us where the front pin was so many times
But our balls never seemed to go in straight lines.

Wise words for the youngsters helping to improve their skills
Friendly sarcasm for the older boys and girls.

‘Come on my boy’ and ‘Oh dear what a shame’
The phrases kept coming to encourage our game.

‘Jolly bad luck madam’ and ‘20p for the three’,
‘Spare On’, ‘nothing spoilt’ were said frequently.

He was an integral member of our little gang,
He gave us so much, a calm and funny man.

He is no longer here, sadly he has now gone,
But we will ensure his words will live on.

So ‘here’s’ to our Rich G, a Fielders goodbye,
Please raise your glasses to an all-round great guy.
